Windsor radio gives up aiming at Detroit
Bell Media maintained two rock radio stations it acquired in Windsor, even though the Detroit headquarters of 89X closed in March 2017. It’s all over now, with a switch to Pure Country 89, at the same time Bell-owned 93.9 the River became Virgin Radio Windsor. The changes also end the legacy of programming a unique Canadian frequency to also reach audiences across the border.
